My Big Girl!!

Wow, I can't believe Vicki is two months old already! She went to the doctor yesterday and got her immunizations, which she totally wasn't happy about! But she's getting so big! 12 pounds 13 ounces and 23 inches long! And my poor little one is battling her first cold! So not liking that one, either. But otherwise she's doing great! Before I know it, I'll be holding a shotgun while answering the door just to scare whatever high school boy has come to pick her up for a night out! Man, I never thought I'd be a mommy, but I'm loving every minute of it!

Holy Cow!

It's been so long since I've posted anything! So much has happened!

Well, Vicki had her first big tub bath on Christmas Day, and she loved it! Bathtime is her favorite time besides cuddle time, he he! She's getting so big! She'll be two months old on Thursday! I can't believe it! She's already able to hold herself up for the most part, but she hasn't gotten tummy time down quite yet! The rudder works but the oars aren't doing much, lol! She's got real strong legs, so we're trying to work on building her arm muscles for crawling!

She's already got her first pair of jeans, too! And she looks so darn cute in them! The picture is sideways cuz I took it on my phone, but she's still adorable! I love her little toes! And her little nose! She's got the most beautiful smile, too! I'm so in love with my little Bug!

And, the best part! She's sleeping almost totally through the night! Already! And she's got me on a schedule, lol! We'll see how long that lasts! But thanks to her I'm out around 10 and up again at around 7! So I get a good amount of sleep! She's such a good baby! So, that's our little update! Welcome to a new year, Victoria! Mommy loves you more than anything!

wow i've been busy!

so, my little girl is already almost a month old! oh my gosh, i can hardly believe it! little miss victoria lynn irish was born november 22nd, 2008, at 1:56 am! i ended up having to do a c-section, which kind of made me sad, but i'm just so happy to finally have my little angel here with us! she's so beautiful! vicki weighed 8 lbs, 12 oz at birth! what a big baby!

we've already had a little trouble with her! spent a couple hours at the hospital because she wouldn't eat! but she's doing good now! we took her to the doctor yesterday, and she weighs 10 lbs, 1 oz! she barely fits in her newborn sized clothes now! right now her eyes are a very pretty dark grey-blue, and i hope they stay that color! and it's looking like her hair is going to be strawberry blonde! a nice mix of mommy and daddy!

she loves the swing her gram-gram bought for her, and as i write she's sleeping peacefully in it! she also loves going for walks with mommy and daddy in her stroller! she hasn't had her first bath in the big tub with mommy yet, since i need to wait til my stitches heal a little more, but once that happens, she'll be in with me in her little pink bath sling thingie!

and she spent her first weekend away from me already! her pap-pap, my dad, took her last weekend to give me a little break, which was great cuz i got my sleep caught up on and some much needed housework done! and tonight we're having our first dinner guests at our apartment! spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread! mmmm!

so, yeah, that's been my very busy month! i can't wait for her first christmas next week! the family is all pitching in to buy us a crib and maybe a dresser for bug! yeah, bug is her nickname! i gave it to her when i was in the hospital! it's going to be so much fun! she was such a hit at thanksgiving, and i think christmas will be even more fun!

Yay Baby Shower!

So, my baby shower was amazing, just like I thought it would be! My cousin did a wonderful job, and I can't thank her enough for taking the time and effort to get it all planned (from three hours away, no less!) It was a really great time.
We got many adorable gifts! I've spent all day today just playing with everything and folding it and looking at all the tiny clothes. I can't get enough of it! I'm due in just four weeks (eep!) and I can't wait to hold my little girl and put her in all these adorable little outfits! And the tiny little shoes! Oh, my gosh! I'm so in love with baby stuff!
And the best part is, the fun isn't over! My other cousin Ashley is coming down next weekend to take me shopping, since she couldn't make it to the shower. Now that'll be a lot of fun! A couple of her friends are coming along, too, and one of them is also pregnant, although she's having a little boy. But us girls are gonna have such a blast! I can hardly wait!
And I got a huge kick out of my dad at the shower. He was acting all put out because he had to sign a card with 'Grandpa'. You know he loves it, no matter what he says or how much he complains. But I had a great weekend, thanks to my wonderful cousin doing all the work! I really should get her something to thank her. Hmmm.......

Bad Saturday, Good Saturday

So, last Saturday was not my best day! Now, I'm not saying I'm a very graceful person, but usually I can keep from falling on my rear. Well, Saturday was not a graceful day for me! I was walking through Chandler Fashion Center with a friend of mine, and I got hungry (completely believable considering my condition). Well, walking through the food court, my stupid feet decided they wanted to find the perfect spot to make me crash and burn!

I went down, big time! I landed on my left hip, but my left ankle wound up under me, and my big fat preggo belly hit my leg pretty hard. I ended up being taken to the hospital for stomach pains and spent almost 6 hours there, I think. (I slept for some of it, so I'm not entirely sure!) They did a bunch of tests and hooked my up to the fetal monitering machine and did an ultrasound, and everything is just fine! And it was kind of cool, cuz I got to see my little girl's heart beating inside her tiny little chest! It was so beautiful to me! I love my little angel!

We have to go to the doctor in the morning for a follow-up evaluation. (Well, really it's just me, but since she's inside me she gets included.) It would be so much better if my regular doctor was going to be there, but he's... somewhere else, so I have to go see the on-call doctor who I don't even know his name or if he's even a he! And I have to go all by myself because Chris has to work! *sad face*

On a good note, this coming Saturday is my baby shower! Finally! I'm so excited! My cousin did all the planning and everything, so I know it'll be super awesome! She's totally amazing at stuff like this! She should totally be a party planner, cuz she would make some serious bank. But back to my baby shower! I've never even been to one, but I know that mine will be undoubtedly the best one I'll ever go to! Since I get all the gifts! LOL! I can't wait to see what everyone got for us! And I can't wait to see my cousin! We hardly get together since she lives way far away (too far to drive with my gas hog of a vehicle)!

So I've had one bad Saturday to put behind me, and I have one good Saturday to look forward to! All in all, I think my life is going pretty good!
